Summary of Experience

Mr. Casey is a leading expert in the energy utility industry with over 30 years of experience. Mr. Casey is currently CEO for ECM, Inc. Previously, Mr. Casey founded SourceOne and was the company’s CEO for 10+ years. He was responsible for the overall management, strategy, and technical initiatives of the Company. Mr. Casey successfully raised equity investments, opened and staffed regional offices, targeted and acquired complementing business. Under Mr. Casey’s direction, SourceOne developed and implemented award-winning sustainable energy projects for its customers and secured high profile multi-million dollar energy efficiency and infrastructure contracts within both the private and public sectors. SourceOne was acquired in April of 2007 by Veolia Energy. Mr. Casey continued to grow SourceOne over the next several years delivering double-digit growth in both revenue and earnings culminating in significant shareholder value.

Mr. Casey Co-Founded SourceGreen, an industrial scale solar energy development company that successfully permitted 6.5 MW’s of rooftop solar. SourceGreen was acquired in April of 2012 by NextSun Energy.

Mr. Casey served on the Board of NYU Poly’s Enterprise Learning Program and The Massachusetts High Technology’s Energy & Environmental Stewardship Council.

Mr. Casey currently serves on the Boards of Cantega Technologies an industry leading designer and manufacturer of dielectric polymer products serving the electric utility industry and Greenwich Energy Solutions, a leading energy management company serving the multifamily residential market.

Mr. Casey holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering with a concentration in Power Systems & Delivery from Northeastern University.

Project Experience

Mr. Casey has worked internationally for Fortune 100 companies, focused on critical infrastructure assessment, sustainability initiatives, on reliability projects, and on efforts to optimize client assets.   Mr. Casey has worked on several initiatives with municipalities including the City of Boston, State of Connecticut and The State of New York.  Mr. Casey has led several efforts to evaluate and develop central utility cogeneration plants utilizing CHP for clients focused on high reliability, sustainability, and energy cost containment.

Mr. Casey has been the project technical lead on many data-center due diligence assessments and acquisitions where utility and energy infrastructure requirement densities far exceed typical requirements for commercial industrial like kind asset foot prints. In his role on these types of projects, Mr. Casey has provided guidance to asset owners and utility technical staff on the capacity, reliability and diversity requirements of this type of site, so distribution designs would meet the high reliability needs, and revenue credit calculations could be calculated accurately and fairly.

Mr. Casey has successfully negotiated portfolio based utility contracts inclusive of commodity, infrastructure, and system reliability improvements with more than 40 utilities; including but not limited to: NSTAR, PG&E, SDG&E, AEP, SOCAL, TXU, Virginia Power, PEPCO, Consolidated Edison, Constellation and the Southern Company.

Mr. Casey was the project executive leader for Biogen Idec’s award wining Distributed Generation CHP project and the 345kV underground transmission project review function for the City of Boston.

Mr. Casey was named to Governor Mitt Romney’s Taskforce on Electric Reliability post the August 2003 black out, and is the recipient of the prestigious “Accolade Award” from The Archon Group, a Goldman Sachs Company which awarded the Accolade in recognition of outstanding achievement and excellent performance for superior service in the field of utility and energy management.
